Simplest of simple soups? Could be. Halving is an easy division by 2. I added more water as it cooked, otherwise my spoon would think it’s stuck in concrete. I replaced cheddar with gouda, not because of the taste, but because I had no cheddar. Works well too!
Finish off with some acid (lemon juice, vinegar or Worchestershire sauce). As always: salt and pepper to taste.
